The Dominicans arrived in Pontevedra in the late twelfth century and began the construction of this Gothic church in the thirteenth century.
In the eighteenth century they attempted a reconstruction of the neoclassical style , but remained unfinished , as it remained unfinished demolition of Gothic apse of the first church .
the head of the church with five polygonal apses and a side wall with a small rosette cover and preserved . Today forms part of Museum of Pontevedra and inside you can admire elements of high artistic and historical value as sarcophagi , coats of arms or graves of people like the knight Tristan Montenegro
